Care and cleaning for feng shui cures

Faceted lead crystals - Wash in mild detergent in warm water. Rinse in warm water and dry immediately with soft cloth. Do this as needed, particularly in the Spring.

Natural crystals - Mix ½ cup of sea salt with 1 cup of spring or distilled water. Place the crystal(s) in this mixture overnight. It’s helpful to start them out in a sunny window. Rinse with spring or distilled water and allow to air dry. These only need to be cleaned periodically – after illness, trauma, or major changes have occurred or when you first get them.

Water fountains - Ideally these should be emptied and cleaned once a month or at least every quarter. The larger the fountain, the less often it requires cleaning. Tabletop fountains may be cleaned in the sink. Use the same general method for floor and wall models. Turn off the fountain and remove all water. Take the back off the pump (where the propeller is) and use a toothbrush to loosen any debris that may be stuck. Run water full blast through the pump and any tubing. If you have pets with fur floating around attach a piece of pantyhose over the intake part of the pump.

Wind chimes - Check for broken strings and repair. Clean with a damp cloth. It’s a good idea to coat the wood pieces with a polyurethane if it is outdoors. If your chimes are in a very windy location, this can cause damage and the noise may bother you or your neighbors. Choose a location that is not so windy or close to bedroom windows.

Affirmations - At least once a year, redo all your affirmations. These can get dusty or go out of date.

Books

This is an excellent basic guide. It covers all the areas in a clear, concise way. It is straight forward, simple and comprehensive. This was the book that made me decide to take the Feng Shui training from Terah Collins.

This is a really fun, little, recipe-type book. You can pick it up anytime and go to any page for a little snippet of an idea. It's got some really functional, clever ideas.
Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston
If you want to really get into working with the energies of structures, this is a good book. It provides ritualistic methods for moving and adjusting the psychic energy around you.

Sarah is one of the premier Western teachers of the Black Hat Sect. Her book has lots of details and background information on the Form School of Feng Shui.

This book is a very interesting holistic look at making energy changes in your world. The author describes herself as an “earth intuitive”. She has studied feng shui, animal behavior, and the energy meridians of the earth. She lived at Findhorn for many years developing her skills.
